Water is clear, tasteless and vital. Nothing is as important to the body as water. The human organism itself consists of up to 70% water. Without regular consumption of water, the body cannot maintain its vital functions.

What tasks does water perform in the human body?
Water is found in every cell in the body and is contained in all body fluids in the human body. It therefore has many important functions, such as transporting various nutrients, regulating body temperature and participating in several metabolic processes. In addition, water is the body's coolant. Heavy sweating ensures that the body temperature does not rise and the evaporation of the sweat cools the skin. It also drives kidney activity, which in turn is responsible for filtering pollutants in the body. So if you drink a lot of water, the pollutants are flushed out faster in the body and you feel fitter and healthier. Furthermore, your skin is tightened as the water ingestion plumps up the wrinkles on the face.
What happens in the body when there is a lack of water?
If people do not consume enough water, the result is a reduction in physical performance. The body could no longer move the essential nutrients to the specific place and the metabolic processes would not run properly. A healthy person loses up to three liters of body fluid a day, which of course has to be covered by ingesting water. If you do not drink water for a longer period of time, serious damage such as circulatory failure or blood thickening can result. The organs with the greatest abundance of water, such as the brain and liver, are also very sensitive to a lack of water. If the body loses 1.5 liters of water, that is only around 2% of its body weight, but physical performance can drop by 20% as a result. 5% feel thirsty first, followed by malaise, headaches or nausea. If the deficiency is higher than 10%, dizziness, the inability to walk and the absence of saliva formation often occur. A human body can go without water for a maximum of 3 days before it becomes life-threatening.

How many liters of water should we drink a day?
Although drinking water is a matter of course, most people fail to ensure adequate water intake. Many only drink when they feel thirsty. But in order to avoid dehydration, you should not only drink when you feel thirsty, but rather spread it throughout the day. It is essential that we drink enough water every day. A good guideline is at least 2 liters, but 3 or even 4 liters are better. If you also want to take in more nutrients and minerals with the water, then it is advisable to drink gemstone water. There are different stones for this, which cause different effects.
